Causes of Womens Health Issues

The causes for quite a few women’s ailments are, as yet, unknown. However, most women’s ailments have a specific cause or a combination of several causes.

Hormonal Changes

PMS, Menopausal night sweats and menstrual migraines are caused by hormonal fluctuations. PCOS or Polycystic ovary syndrome is caused by endocrine gland dysfunction and is the leading cause of infertility in women. Secondary Amenorrhea is often caused by hormonal fluctuations from the pituitary gland as well as the hypothalamus.

Developmental Problems

In cases of Primary Amenorrhea, menstruation cycles do not start because of developmental problems.

Nutritional Deficiencies

Osteoporosis is caused by a calcium deficiency but women are at a much higher risk of suffering from this condition as compared to men.

Infection

Women are also at a higher risk for several Yeast infections and Urinary tract infections. Bacterial vaginosis is a bacterial infection caused by the imbalance of the bacterial flora within the vagina.

Remedies for Womens Health Issues

Tea tree oil, boric acid and yogurt are often used to treat yeast infections. Boric acid vaginal suppositories are especially effective in treating and preventing recurring yeast infections.

Lavender oil and rosemary oil are used to reduce the severity of menstrual migraines. The herb feverfew too has been used to effectively treat and prevent menstrual migraines.

Chamomile is widely used to treat both the physical and psychological effects of PMS. A very effective tonic can be made by immersing Chamomile flowers in boiling water.

Diet for Womens Health Issues

It is important to follow a healthy diet on a daily basis. A healthy diet can go a long way in preventing conditions like PCOS and osteoporosis. Include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet and cut down on your consumption of red meat.

Women who are overweight or obese are at a higher risk of several diseases including Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. Cut down on your intake of fried junk foods and processed white flour products. You should also make sure that you exercise daily as this will help to maintain an ideal body weight as well as improve circulation.

Very often mineral deficiencies cause a host of serious medical conditions like osteoporosis, arthritis and bone spurs. Raw vegetables are rich in minerals and so it would be wise to have at least two servings of salad everyday.

Suggestion for Womens Health Issues

In many cases, improper hygiene habits lead to infections. Wash yourself well with very warm water and a mild soap at least once a week. This will help to eliminate any residual discharge and will reduce your risk of infections.
