Five Tips for Saving a Relationship

Have you broken up with your boyfriend, but still love him and are not sure what you should do? You can start by following these five tips that really work for saving a relationship.

1. Remain serene, calm, and composed. Think of getting back together with your ex boyfriend as a goal you must achieve. Goals of any kind can't be reached if you're depressed and negative. Do not waste energy with feeling sorry for yourself.

2. Accept that things have changed. Don't dwell in the past--focus on what you need to do today.

3. Don't beg or plead with your ex to return to you. Don't constantly call, e-mail, or text him. This is a common mistake that many women make. Allow him the space and time he needs away from you. This is the only way he's ever going to begin to miss you.

4. Work on improving yourself. Begin an exercise program, buy some new clothes, or get a new hairstyle. Whatever it takes to regain self-confidence!

5. Remain patient. The problems in your old relationship didn't develop overnight and you're not going to solve them overnight. But if you've followed the first four steps above, you should be ready for a re-connection with your ex-boyfriend. However, limit any type of physical activity for now and take it at a slower pace. Doing so increases his desire to have you.

When saving a relationship, it's important to have a plan of action like this. Following your feelings and emotions will just lead to disaster. That's what most people do (ever wonder why the divorce rate is so high?). Instead, people should have some kind of instruction manual guiding them through the difficulties of relationships.
