Avon Makeup - Laying the Foundation

How to look fabulous using Avon products

There are a few key steps to getting the most out of your Avon cosmetic products. For now I am going to focus on "Laying the foundation" so you can get a grasp for the fundamentals of good cosmetic use. There are three basic steps to achieving a simple but elegant look, without looking like you're trying too hard.

Avon has a variety of makeup in numerous brands:

Ideal shade-great for normal skin.

Smooth Minerals - free of talc, oil and fragrance. This makeup line is best if you have sensitive skin.

Healthy Makeup - this line is also suitable for sensitive skin. It's also like a moisturizer and has vitamins, and antioxidants enriched with pomegranate and apple.

Anew - this is Avon's anti-aging makeup line. There is a complete Anew regimen specifically designed for every age group as well as the Anew Clinical line that is designed to treat trouble areas of all ages.

First, clean your face to make sure that there is no excess dirt or oil on your skin that can be trapped by the makeup. Once the face is clean you can start with the foundation. Foundation is used to even out the imperfections in the skin tone and provide a smooth surface for applying other cosmetic products. Avon has five different forms of foundation: liquid, cream, cream-to-powder, powder and mousse. In addition to these five forms there are usually at least four basic tones: light, medium-light, medium and deep. To best match your skin tone, start with a small spot on your upper jaw line. Once you match up your skin tone, apply a conservative but even layer. If you are having trouble matching the foundation to your skin, it's okay to go a little lighter.

Now we move on to our concealer. Your concealer should match your foundation. Concealers cover up skin imperfections, blemishes, dark circles under the eyes and other trouble spots. Use the concealer only on the targeted troubled areas of your face.

Last, you must set both your foundation and concealer with powder. This will lock in the foundation and give your face the perfect finished look. Powder also eliminates unwanted shine that can be caused by your skin's natural deposits. Powder typically comes in two types pressed and loose; either one is fine it's all according to your personal preferences.

What is your daily make up foundation routine?
