The Native Blooms Of Lithuania

The native flowers of Lithuania carpet the gently rolling hills and plains of this tiny country on the southeastern coastline of the Baltic Sea. Their native beauty covers the tragic history of this tiny country which is engulfed in tradition. There are many traditions in the Lithuanian culture that the native of Lithuania perform a great part in. Weddings, funerals, and other significant ceremonies as well as medicinal purposes make native flowers an important part of the culture of Lithuania.

The national flower of Lithuania is the Rue, sometimes known as the Herb of Repentance. Some call the sunny flower as the bloom of patience and endurance since a rue plant may live for generations. Brides usually carry a wreath made of Rue as it is also a sign of virginity. This native flower of Lithuania that is also an herb has also been used for medicinal purposes including relieving the discomfort and inflammation of bee stings or bee stings. The national flower of Lithuania is also believed to increase sex drive in men and women.

Hepatica Nobilis is one of the most treasured native flowers of Lithuania. The flowers of Hepatica Noblis are usually blue or hues of lilac although the lovely flowers are also found in ivory and pink. Each new bloom grows on a single stem that is covered by fine hairs though as the plant grows they can form clumps with many flowers. Hepatica Noblis grows only a few inches in height and is normally located growing in rich woodlands surrounding the cities in Lithuania. The flowers open their fullest on bright sunny days and the flowers linger for a few weeks in the early spring in Lithuania. Lithuanian Blues, a variety of Hepatica Noblis, is cherished as an Easter bloom and a sign of coming spring.
