My younger sister's birthday was coming up so I decided to treat her to some simple semi-permanent eyelash extensions. She was always borrowing my make up and was entirely gleeful when I told her I had made an appointment with an advisor who would apply the eyelashes and explain a little about them. We thought semi-permanent extensions were best as they are glued individually to the natural lash and last quite a length of time.
When the big day arrived my sister was seriously elated but the technician was very kind and quickly put her at ease. She told us the extensions needed to be applied accurately care for properly. My sister should never pull them off because they should fall out casually and also shouldn't use any oil-based liquids on them.
The consultant's suggestion was to use breakaway lash lengths to make the extensions look thicker and sexier. She also recommended a natural look because my sister was only eighteen and it wouldn't look right if her eyelashes suddenly became exotic. We also noticed you can have colored lashes applied with or without gems stuck on them!
The eyelashes themselves are either synthetic or made from mink, are light to wear and add fullness and attraction to your eyes. The whole approach took about one and a half hours, well worth every minute as my sister looked positively starry-eyed when the eyelash extensions were in place.
I had researched the procedure on the world wide web and found that between fifty and one hundred individual lashes are glued to each eyelid during the process. They would last about the same time as natural eyelashes which tend to fall out over a two week period but then re-grow. My sister was told she could wear make-up but mascara wasn't necessary. If she did use it she could apply it to the tips of the lashes. She was also told to refrain or stay away from contact with water around the eyes for the first day until the glue had set firmly.
Once we got home mum couldn't believe the revolution of her little girl and after studying her for a few minutes declared she the new look. We all thought it was a fantastic idea but my sister was ideally thrilled. She felt grown up and was ready to go out and celebrate her eighteenth birthday.
Prices will vary depending on what type of eyelash extensions you pick but since it was for my sister's special birthday the fee was worth every penny. Touch ups can be done every two or three weeks at a practical cost. It removes stray and loose eyelashes and is a good step for keeping your new eyelash extensions looking as good as the day they were applied.
