Things to look out for in your sunscreen

For the cheeks and mouthEnsure your sunscreen has an SPF ( Sun Protection Factor) of 30 or higher.

SPF is a rating system for the amount of protection afforded against UVB rays.

Typically, only about 25% of the recommended amount of sunscreen is used, diminishing the protection immensely.

Choose a broad spectrum sunscreen that protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

Sunscreen
While UVB rays can burn, UVA rays are longer and penetrate deeper into the skin leading to wrinkles, fine lines and leathery skin.

Opt for a water resistant sunscreen if you are engaging in active play or swimming.

Water resistant sunscreens give longer protection than those that are not water resistant.

Regardless of the sunscreen, reapply every 2 hours for optimal protection.

If you have sensitive skin, choose one that is free of fragrance, dyes, and preservatives.

Look for gel sunscreens to help minimise breakouts.

Gel sunscreens are light and " breathable" and do not irritate the skin.
